Is Obstacle an opposition

IS OBSTACLE AN OPPOSITION?
Deep in the jungles of Africa, in the heat of the Nigerian Civil war, featuring rebels and government forces, the missionaries worked with minimum resources caring for the wounded, the sick, the handicapped, the young, old, pregnant women, children…suddenly, their worst fears came upon them. The rebels entered the mission house and didn’t hesitate to chop the head of the white priest and nuns caring for the weak. Booker T. Washington said, “Success isn’t measured by the position you reach in life; it’s measured by the obstacles you overcome,” Life is often filled with obstacles. How we respond to these obstacles will determine what we accomplish in life.

When it comes to advancing the kingdom of God, opposition is given. Satan will attempt to obstruct the work of the Lord. His determination to destroy what God seeks to accomplish is rooted in his hatred for God, and of God’s plan to save man-kind.
Too often Christians give up at the first opposition they experience. Instead of trusting in the Lord for help, they give in to fear. But God calls us to rely on His power to overcome the challenges we face. When we learn to place our trust in the Lord, we will learn how limitless His power is in our lives and He will surely fulfill all His promises as we put our trust in Him by obeying His word.
This week’s lesson examines the Jewish remnant’s ability to overcome opposition while rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. They completed the task under the leadership of Nehemiah. It also challenges believers today to rely on the Lord as they seek to do the will of God. (Nehemiah 6: 1 through 7: 2)
In conclusion, Apostle Paul wrote to the people of Corinth “Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
