NuMeRo-UnO OcTo-TrEaT

Very Recently, my sundays have been exciting as look forward to each lesson to be taught in the Sunday School. i look at each lesson as a treat, awaiting it with relish...lol. Lest i forget, happy independence and a splendid new month to you specially.

Today's treat borders on a faith profile of Christ's first disciples, "Faith To Follow Christ-  Matthew 16:24". The lesson brings to rememberance the  works of famous cartoonist, W.E. Hill, a drawing of a young woman looking away. or was it an old woman looking down at a spot near the viewer? As you look, the picture changes.
In today's scripture (John 1: 29-51), we meet men whose eyes were opened  to see Jesus in a new light. What they saw caused them to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, a decision that changed their lives for ever.

Considering today's contemporary Christian,Its important that we ask ourselves why people should choose to follow Christ. Why have you chosen to follow him?. You could go further to analyse how the faith of other beleivers in Christ inspires them to follow Christ more determinedly. Check their actions or changes God caused them to make, you may need to commit your heart to make these changes too. Following Christ without reservation leads to abundant life.

The God who made you also calls you as Jesus called the first disciples. Today, take a moment to name the four disciples who are described in john 1. Think about how they are different. Which one are you most like? Find a lesson in that disciple's story that can apply to your own life today.

You know the changes God wants you to make. There may be new challenges you need to take on or people God wants you to reach. Now write down what you plan to do this week to respond to God's call.

Perhaps your call is to reach peter or nathaniel or  someone who is waiting to hear about Jesus. Who are the unreached people in your circle of friends? Write down the names of those you want to invite to "Come & See... ". Ask God to help you reach these people.

Any Questions???
